Centenary

This year was a very special year not just because of the Jubilee and Olympic celebrations but also because the ‘Loose Schools' Federation’ celebrated their Centenary.

During the week of the 25th to 29th June we held a number of memorable and exciting events to mark this occasion. Planning was under way since September to ensure we had a variety of opportunities for staff, friends, families and children. These provided everyone with many memories that will be drawn upon over the next 100 years.

Some of our events are detailed below.

  • We had a 1912 dressing up day for both staff and children.
  • We made a commemorative mosaic plaque.
  • We constructed a model with Mr. Cross of how the school looked in 1912.
  • The ‘Loose Historical Society’ helped us put together a showcase of pictures and memorabilia.
  • We had a 50’s hair day and some braved a spam fritter!
  • We invited back old staff, children and families to visit the school.
  • We had an excellent whole school show of singing, dancing and performing of which parents and friends were invited to.
